For this video I made a baby-sized blanket but you can make this crochet blanket in any size you wish; just make sure that your foundation chain is a multiple of 8 + 5, plus an extra 2 for the foundation chain.

The stitch used in this pattern is the Diamond Trellis Stitch. It consists of a 4-row repeat, which is quick and easy to work up once you’ve completed it a few times. The blanket is then finished off with a simple crochet border consisting of 4 rounds.
This crochet baby blanket is very elegant and it’s one of those items that could easily become an heirloom piece to be passed down through the generations.
For this pattern you’ll need to know the following crochet stitches / abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
FPdc – front post double crochet
sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
sp – space
st – stitch
