5 Projects to Knit This Summer

You may not think of summer as knitting season since it’s a time to get out of the house, enjoy the outdoors, and embrace the warm weather. However, I’m here to tempt you with five beautiful projects that are perfect for working on during those sunny summer months. Some projects are small and quick, and others can be made with light-weight yarns that won’t heat you up while knitting them. Let us know which ones are your favorites!

This simple dishcloth isn’t just named for the bright colors, but because it’s also an easy-peasy lemon squeezy project to knit. Worked diagonally in garter stitch, it’s super quick to make a bunch of these for you and your friends. Grab your needles and worsted weight kitchen cotton and make something happy for your kitchen!

2. Rhododendron Shawl

Designed by Jen Lucas

Available in The Knitting Circle Pattern Shop

The Rhododendron Shawl is a top-down crescent shawl with a knitted-on border. The shawl begins with a garter tab cast on and goes straight into the lace charts that are worked throughout the body of the shawl. Once the body of the shawl is complete, additional stitches are cast on and a knitted-on edging is worked. Rhododendron is created using 600 yards of sport weight yarn.

3. Halaine Tee

The Halaine Tee is an enchanting summery tee with figure-flattering details. The empire waist styling combined with the ruffled edges make for a feminine, wearable top that can be dressed up or down! Wear it with jeans or shorts for a casual look as shown or go sophisticated by pairing it with a pencil skirt or tailored trousers.
